Tamás Magyarics (Budapest, 1953) is a historian, university professor, and former ambassador. He has been teaching at the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) Institute of English and American Studies since 1987 and has held teaching positions at the University of California, Santa Barbara, the International European Studies in Vienna, and the Corvinus University of Budapest. From 2011 to 2015, he served as Hungary’s ambassador to Ireland. He has published extensively on the history and foreign policy of the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as transatlantic relations. Currently, he is a professor at ELTE’s Department of American Studies and a senior research fellow at the National University of Public Service’s America Research Institute. He is also editor-in-chief of Hungarian Conservative and Hungarian Review.
