Balázs Orbán Dr.

He was born in Budapest. In 2009, he graduated from the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Eötvös Loránd University, in 2011 as a political analyst, and in 2012 he graduated from the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Law and Political Science. In 2014, he graduated from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Pázmány Péter Catholic University as a Master of Laws LL.M. In 2009, he passed the exam in civil registration, in 2010 the competitive exam in public administration, in 2011 the comprehensive exam in public administration and in 2014 the bar exam. During his university years, he worked as a scholarship holder at the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Justice and Procedural Affairs of the Office of the Parliament. He started his career in 2009 at the Ministry of Justice and Law Enforcement, and joined Századvég Group in 2012 as a legal expert at Századvég Gazdaságkutató. From January 2013, he was Research Director in charge of public law and public policy research at Századvég Foundation. Between 2015 and 2018, he was Director General of the Migration Research Institute, founded by Századvég Foundation and Mathias Corvinus Collegium, and a lecturer at Budapest Metropolitan University. Starting in 2016, he was an assistant professor at the Ludovika University of Public Service, and since 2018 he has been the Chairman of the University’s Advisory Board. Also in 2016, he became a lecturer at the Mathias Corvinus Collegium and in 2020 he was appointed chairman of the Collegium’s Board of Trustees. Between 2018 and 2022, he was Deputy Minister and Parliamentary and Strategic State Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office. He has been the Political Director to the Prime Minister from 2021.
