Soma Csaba Lehotzky

He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in International Business at Corvinus University of Budapest. During his undergraduate studies, he spent a year at Korea University in Seoul, where he primarily focused on the operational strategies of international corporations and examined the corporate dimensions of the East Asian economic miracle. He earned his Master’s degree in International Economy and Business with a specialization in International Economic Analysis at Corvinus University of Budapest. In parallel, he also completed the Master’s program in Development Economics & Globalization at the University of Groningen, specializing in international capital and globalization. Between January 2021 and April 2024, he worked as an economic analyst at the Ministry of Finance of Hungary. His responsibilities included the analysis of national accounts, GDP forecasting, and representing the Ministry’s professional position in various international institutions such as the European Commission and the OECD. As a national expert, he contributed to the preparation of the OECD’s 2022 country report on Hungary. Following May 2024, he served as the Head of the Fiscal Policy Analysis Department. Since February 2025, he has been working as Research Director at the Institute of Economic Trends at the Századvég Foundation, where he examines the impacts of major macroeconomic trends on both the Hungarian and European economies. His main research interests include the effects of international trade and capital markets on competitiveness and economic convergence, as well as the fundamental conditions of sustainable economic growth.
